Instead of just giving you a list of questions, this prompt forces Claude to conduct an interactive back-and-forth mock interview, complete with follow-up questions and constructive feedback at the end.

The Prompt

Act as a Senior Hiring Manager interviewing me for the role of [Target Job Title] at [Target Company or Industry]. 

Here is my background: [Briefly summarize your resume/experience] 

We are going to conduct a realistic, dynamic mock interview. Please follow these rules strictly:
1. Ask only ONE question at a time. Do not give me a list. Wait for my response before proceeding.
2. Ask a mix of behavioral (STAR method), technical, and situational questions.
3. If my answer is weak or brief, push back with a challenging follow-up question.
4. After 5 questions, conclude the interview and provide a detailed critique: 
 - What I did well.
 - Where my answers fell flat or lacked detail.
 - An example of how I could have answered the weakest question better.

Start by introducing yourself as the hiring manager and asking the first question.

Tips for Best Results

• Paste the Job Description: To make the mock interview even harder and more realistic, paste the exact job description of the role you are applying for right after your background summary.
• Use Voice Mode: If you use the Claude mobile app or the ChatGPT app, use the Voice mode to practice answering these questions out loud instead of typing them. It builds confidence much faster.
