## Worked teaching example

Fictional report: Q1 had 40 repair attempts and 30 completions. Q2 had 60 attempts and 42 completions. Q1's completion rate is 30/40 = 75%; Q2's is 42/60 = 70%. Completed count rose by 12, or 40% relative to Q1's count, while the completion rate fell by 5 percentage points. A caption saying “completion improved by 40%” is ambiguous and should be corrected. The report does not establish why results changed.
